Gift Aid Donations and 100 Club
Funding.
The village hall has a number of sources of income, from the hire of our rooms, from our own events and activities, such as film club, table tennis and the café downstairs. We also benefit from generous gift aid donations from supportive villagers. For larger building and equipment projects we are well supported by grant funders. The building is nearly 100 years old and has had extensions and improvements over the years. Since 2013, the hall has been brought up-to-date with a fire alarm system, new commercial kitchen, new and refurbished toilets, additional thermal insulation and acoustic panels, furniture, projector and an extension to house the new kitchen area and library downstairs.
We are very grateful to our grant funders who include:
The National Lottery
The Government Rural Prosperity Fund (levelling up)
Hampshire County Council
New Forest District Council
ACRE (The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Fund)
The Veolia Environmental Trust
Viridor Credits Environmental Company
Cleansing Service Group
Garfield Weston Foundation Trust
Bernard Sunley Foundation Trust
The Co-operative Community Fund
Hale Parish Council
Hale and Woodgreen Transition Group
In 2025, we plan to refurbish the changing room and showers, install solar photovoltaic panels on the back roof of the hall and a storage battery so that the power can be stored for use at peak periods. We also plan to build a small extension to house a new accessible toilet with a door from the ground floor lobby in late 2025 or early 2026.
Hale Village Hall Management Committee has been very fortunate in securing the funding needed to carry out an extensive refurbishment project spanning 2013 to 2015 and are very grateful to all those who have helped. Key contributors have been Cleansing Services Group, The Veolia Environmental Trust and Viridor Credits, who have all awarded grants through the Landfill Communities Fund, the National Lottery, Garfield Weston and Bernard Sunley Foundation Trusts, Hampshire County Council and New Forest District Council.
The work to be undertaken from 2013 to 2015 includes a new gas boiler and water heating system, emergency lights and fire alarm, external and internal decoration, new windows, entrance doors, soffits and fascias, energy-efficient lighting and re-modelling of the entrance hall. Last on the list will be a new and upgraded kitchen in 2015 and then, maybe, a well-deserved celebration.
Grateful thanks also to those who have given Gift Aid donations, attended fundraising events or donated via the 100 Club.
